Now in its fourth year, the Digital Marketing Conference on December 11-12, 2011 will connect marketing professionals and students with new customers, ideas, technologies and business opportunities. With the theme of “Where today’s marketers connect,” the conference will span two days with national keynote speakers, presentations by Portland business leaders, a boot camp, and the fast-paced Ignite learning experience. Events will take place at Hoffman and Lincoln halls on the Portland State campus.
The 2011 conference’s website, www.pdxdmc.com, will launch on September 16.
“I believe that marketers and communication professionals need to spend more time listening and taking action,” says Michael Britto, a senior vice president for social business planning at Edelman Digital in San Francisco, CA. “If brands treat their customers with kindness and respect, customers will love them back and tell others about those brands.” Britto will serve as one of the conference’s primary keynote speakers.
The 4th Annual Digital Marketing Conference will cover topics such as digital strategies, social media marketing, search engine marketing, analytics, mobile integration, and other best practices. The conference is ideal for marketers who work at companies and agencies, or who function as independent consultants—from career professionals with digital experience to those transitioning from traditional marketing.
“We are growing the conference again this year,” says Jennifer Portis, program manager for the Multimedia Professional Program at Portland State. “In having the best speakers and a collaborative learning environment, we are building upon Portland’s reputation as an epicenter for digital marketing and sharing that knowledge to further establish brands and businesses across the region.”
Conference organizers are currently finalizing the program of speakers and sponsors, and are focusing on business clusters such as higher education, food and beverage, software development, entertainment, sports and fashion—many industries recognized as central to Portland’s economic development strategy.
The Digital Marketing Conference is presented by the Multimedia Professional Program, part of the Professional Development Center at PSU. The Multimedia Professional Program offers over 50 stand-alone courses and three multimedia certificates.
