As a consultant, C.C. has helped a variety of clients embrace all forms of new media and online marketing to take their campaigns to the next level. His work has won awards and his clients have included HBO, American Eagle Outfitters, Verizon FiOS, and The Coca-Cola Company. C.C. has a passion for being on stage and loves nothing more than motivating a room full of people. He was one of the first professional podcasters and continues to share his knowledge and insights on the popular Managing the Gray. The future is Brian David Johnson's business. As a futurist at Intel Corporation his charter is to develop an actionable vision for computing in 2020. His work is called ?future casting? ? using ethnographic field studies, technology research, trend data and even science fiction to provide Intel with a pragmatic vision of consumers and computing. Along with reinventing TV, Johnson has been pioneering development in artificial intelligence, robotics, and using science fiction as a design tool. He speaks and writes extensively about future technologies in articles and scientific papers as well as science fiction short stories and novels (Fake Plastic Love, Nebulous Mechanisms: The Dr. Simon Egerton Stories and the forthcoming This Is Planet Earth). He has directed two feature films and is an illustrator and commissioned painter.

As founding member and bass player for the post-punk band Gang of Four, and later a digital music consultant for Fortune 500 companies, Dave Allen has been a frontline player in the music industry. Adjusting with industry evolution, Dave has been band founder, label owner, corporate advisor, and social media pioneer. Dave's highly trafficked music and MP3 blog, Pampelmoose.com, is the latest step in his 15-year mission to reduce the transactional friction between music lovers, musical artists, and copyright holders during Internet distribution. Pampelmoose has an international audience and has been noted in Time magazine.

Carri Bugbee is the proprietor of Big Deal PR, a virtual agency that manages campaigns and projects in public relations, advertising, and online marketing. Ms. Bugbee has 20 years experience in traditional public relations and advertising but in recent years has embraced online marketing with a vengeance, including Twitter, social networks/media, search marketing, and all things Web 2.0. In 2009, Ms. Bugbee received a Shorty Award in advertising for being an outstanding content producer on Twitter. She won for tweeting (anonymously) and building up thousands of loyal followers as Peggy Olson, a character from the AMC drama, Mad Men.

Cynthia Fuhrman has worked in marketing and communications, primarily in the professional theater, since 1981, with two detours ? which she highly recommends taking. She has been the director of marketing and public relations/communications at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland ('81 ? 87) and Portland (88 ? 94), StageWest in Massachusetts ('87 ? 88), Portland Center Stage ('94 ? '98) and Seattle Repertory Theatre ('03 ? '07). For nearly five years she took a break from theater and was the Chief Operating Officer for eyescream interactive, from 1998-2002 the Northwest's largest internet marketing agency. She returned to Portland Center Stage in the spring of '08, following a one-year stint as Communications Director for the City of Portland's Office of Sustainable Development.

Dennis came from a design background and was the founder of a digital agency called ZCom. John Hartman is President of Feedia, a social media consulting firm helping companies develop strategies in new media. He has worked with many government agencies and major corporations on a litany of projects in the IT space. In 2004 Mr. Hartman became the technology evangelist for the Digital Universe Foundation. He developed Semantic Web strategies and helped to evolve the digital universe from a customized Mozilla browser to a browser-independent platform using Dojo Ajax framework and a customized Media Wiki implementation called the Encyclopedia of Earth, a project headed by a co-founder of Wikipedia. Currently he instructs in the Digital Marketing Strategies certificate at Portland State University.

Brent Hieggelke, President and Board member, Second Porch Inc., has more than 20 years experience as a high-tech marketing executive focused on high-growth, turnaround, and entrepreneurial marketing assignments. In 1986, he co-founded NewCity Communications, an alternative media company in Chicago. In 1996, Mr. Hieggelke moved to Oregon to run marketing at ABC Technologies, where he won several software marketing awards. The company was eventually sold to SAS Institute, the largest private software company in the world. In 2000, he was recruited to run marketing at fast-growing WebTrends. The company grew from $19 million to $61 million in his first year and then the company was acquired by NetIQ. In 2003, he was named one the top B2B marketers of the year. In 2005, the WebTrends division was sold off to Francisco Partners, a private equity firm. In 2006, Mr. Hieggelke became CMO of Touch Clarity out of London, where he repositioned the company, launched an industry analyst program, and made key partner business-development introductions, which played a key role in eventually selling the company to Omniture nine months later. He then spent the next 18 months at Omniture as a company evangelist and strategic marketing executive, before leaving to start Second Porch Inc.

Kevin's team works closely with engineering and sales in identifying and articulating the market and customer requirements for Ensequence's product strategy and then ensuring this is reflected in the company's go-to-market communications and corporate branding. Kevin has been integral in the identification and development of the Ensequence iTV Manager platform, which is the world's first product specifically designed to address the complete iTV development, delivery and management lifecycle. Prior to Ensequence, Kevin held numerous leadership positions in product management and marketing with companies providing solutions for digital media markets, including Apple, Iomega, In Focus and Digimarc. He received his BS from the University of Utah and his Master's degree from Portland State University. He resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife, two children and yellow lab.

Chris has been with adidas for four years, starting in the eCommerce group as a consultant and then moving into digital marketing. He has held both global and regional management positions while at adidas. Chris began his career in digital marketing in 1998 with a small .com start-up in Hood River, Oregon, Outdoorplay.com. In 2001, he began consulting online retailers and agencies on website development and online selling tools. In 2003, he returned to school at the University of Oregon to receive his MBA in sports business. His work has been recognized by the Mobile Marketing Association, and he has spoken at mobile marketing conferences nationwide. Chris currently lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Hilary, daughter, Lydia, Labrador Retriever, Lily, and his bicycles.

Prior to joining Powell's, Mark held various roles at global fitness equipment company Precor, Inc., where he was instrumental in developing product and marketing strategies that grew sales by 115% during his tenure. Mark's background also includes Tripwire and 800.com, and he began his career at Harry and David, where he honed his direct marketing expertise. He still brings his HP 12C calculator to most meetings.

Selling over 200,000 copies worldwide in over 13 languages, Robert's books include the first seven editions of the Flash Bible (Wiley), as well as Video with Adobe Flash CS4 Professional Studio Techniques (Adobe Press). As an Adobe-Certified Instructor at Portland State University and an Adobe Community Professional, he has also developed multimedia training for higher education and Fortune 100 companies. Mr. Rhoads has pioneered Intel's social media techniques and has led a four-year project with MIT that researched online trust and digital marketing strategies. Lisa Sedlar is the president and chief operating officer of New Seasons Market. Originally from the Midwest, she was drawn to Portland for its creative energy, support of the environment, and most importantly, local, sustainably grown food. Lisa is a formally trained chef and has worked in retail food markets for over 20 years, in positions ranging from store chef to director of purchasing to vice president of sales and marketing.

In addition to being passionate about food and food security, Lisa believes that business leaders have a responsibility to the communities they serve. She is on the board of directors for the Oregon Food Bank and the Portland Public Market. She also serves on the business advisory committees of the Food Alliance and the Food Innovation Center, and is a member of the City Club of Portland. Lisa and her family live on a farm just south of Portland. They enjoy taking care of their farm animals, bird watching and trail rides, cooking Sunday brunch together, and playing horseshoes.

Hot Pepper recently launched a mobile-development group that is producing cross-platform applications focused on entertainment, travel, and wellness. In his spare time, Brad is the executive director of the WebVisions conference (http://www.webvisionsevent.com), an annual event that explores the future of Web design, technology, user experience, and business strategy. Brad is a board member for Oregon Creative Industries and founder of the DevGroup NW.

During his 10-year tenure at Intel, David has held a number of digital marketing roles, including Internet marketing strategy, global digital and partner marketing, and most recently as America's marketing senior digital strategist. During the last four years, David has teamed with the U.S. Campaign Marketing teams to develop a leading strategy for Intel's digital marketing, social and mobile media initiatives in the United States. Several of these campaigns have garnered industry recognition for their innovative and unique approach. Prior to Intel, David spent five years at Symantec Corporation working in a variety of digital marketing and media roles. David holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon.
